Authentiaction fields - how are they determined?

Hendrik

Question

Hi there, can anyone tell me what criteria is used by Caspio to add a field to the "Authentication Fields" that are listed in the dropdown at the top of an HTML edit dialog.

I've noticed that most of the fields in my user table are listed as authentication fields but, not all.

So, my question is: What causes a field to end up in the "Authentication Fields" lists?

Regards

Hendrik

Hi Hendrik,

Authentication fields are taken from the data source table or view. If you use a view, you may check if you included the field in the view.

In case you use table you should be able to see all the fields except fields with special datatype like password. Also depending on the datatype compatibility you will see different lists of available authentication fields in a drop-down.

Hope it helps :)
