  1. Do you have the documentation for this. I can't find it on the Caspio site and need to create a datapage to delete a field in a table based on a view
  2. Barbara, Thank you so much!! That worked perfectly. It took me a while to realize you changed the cbParamVirtual1 value from cleanRsult to result after I changed the fieldName to VIrtual 10_1, but it workes splendidly now! Love you!
  3. Three total. The first is the search and report page. It is on that page the user selects initial filtering criteria and the report is generated. The parameters are passed to page 2. Page 2 is details page for links checked from page 1. The parameters from page 2 to page 3. All parameters for the filtering criteria pass fine except the parameters that I need to parse for the multi-celect: Location_City. Page 3 is a report/table datapage with criteria selected for the report from the parameters transferred from page 1. Like I said everything works fine except that "OR" field for the multi-select which appears to be passing either blank or empty.
  4. Yes and no. I am using a search and report page for an initial result table. I am passing the search parameters to a new table and then returning them to another results table so the user doesn't have to repeat entering search criteria. The parameters are generated from a search and report datapage. I have used the code provided and modified it, but I can't get it to work. I am using InsertRecord instead of cbParamVirtualX for the field name because it is generated from a search/report datapage. I also have a hidden virtual field for cbParamVirtual1 which is where the new "OR" results are supposed to go. That variable, however, passes as blank. I am wracking my brain here. The Location_City field is the one that needs to be parsed with names separated with "OR". It is from a cascading listbox. Here is my code: var fieldName = "InsertRecordLocation_City"; var x1=document.getElementsByName(fieldName); x1[0].multiple=true; function splitAndParse() { var result = ""; var cleanResult = ""; for (var i = 0; i < x1[0].length; i++) { if (x1[0].options.selected) { result += "\""+x1[0].options.value+"\"" + " OR " ; } } if (x1[0].length > 4) { cleanResult = result.substring(0,(result.length-4)); } document.getElementById("cbParamVirtual1").value = cleanResult; } document.getElementById("caspioform").onsubmit=splitAndParse;
  5. I was trying that, but can't get it to work. Are you saying that the values do not include "||cb||" but a comma instead? I was trying to use the replace function (i.e. [@Field].replace=? but that wasn't working. DO you have some sample code to change the values in the table to include the OR statement instead of "," or "||cb||"? Here is my code: v_Virtual_City=[@Virtual_City].replace(/,/g," OR "); document.write(v_Virtual_City); The document.write line is just to test, but the "," is not replaced. I also tried "||cb||" but that's not replaced either.
  6. I have configured a search form that allows for multi-select listboxes. I'd like to pass them and run a query from a table. The parameters pass fine, but they look like this (two cities selected from the multi-select): "Chula Vista||cb||El Cajon". When I try to use this Virtual parameter as a data field using pre-defined criteria for a tabular report, no records are displayed. The report should generate all matching records for the two cities, Chula Vista AND El Cajon. How can I pass parameters using the multi-select variable (let's call it Virtual1) and run those parameters successfully against the data fields? By the way, I tried changing the comparison type to "contains", but no go. Please help.
  7. I have to do this manually for every embedded code. Is there a way to have it removed automatically before deployment?
  8. Please can someone respond to this. This is an imperative. I find it disconcerting that every tutorial, help, or support function I've read demands that these kinds of parameters can only be passed through a query string, but then the response from Caspio support is "why am I doing it that way?" If there is a way to pass parameters through the bridge from an HTML block, that'll work, but I need a response or an alternative to encrypt or pass data securely. I also will implement https, but my understanding is that only encrypts the data during transmission from the browser to the server, but the URL query string is still visible in the toolbar on the user's browser which still needs to be avoided. The data is extremely confidential. Thoughts please ????
  9. I need a small table that essentially summarizes detail from a View. All I need to do is count the number of fields in a table with particular values and display them in a table summary. For example, X number of records with Y value in one field, Z number of records with A value from a different field in the same table. It seems that this should be such an easy task, but its a tremendous feat and I can't figure it out. I've tried Totals and Aggregates, but I don't need all the detail, and even when modifying the style to eliminate some rows, it still doesn't do what I need it to do. Similarly, I've tried working with java to pull and calculate the data in an HTML block, but can't et this to work either. Here's what I need: Value A Value B Value C Field X Count A Count B Count C Field Y Count A Count B Count C Field Z Count A Count B Count C There has to be an easier way to manipulate the data in Caspio. Please let me know. Thanks.
  10. Additionally, I have conditional statements written in java that direct the user to pages depending on the parameters on selected records. I cannot seem to pass these blindly through Caspio bridge
  11. The problem with this is the parameter then displays for all the world to see in the URL. I have the same issue/problem, and need to transfer the parameter silently to the popup. I'd like to either (1) use Caspio bridge to pass the parameter, or (2) encrypt the parameter in the URL. Any help is appreciated.
  12. I'll explain a little more. Some results pages have a link to another site, so there is no transfer of parameters through Caspio Bridge because there is no formal "exit" from the page (at least I don't think so). If there'a way to transfer parameters through the bridge without having to exit (e.g. from a link in the page), then I'm golden. If a virtual field is an option, can you provide me an example of what you have in mind. As an example from my site, I have a link from a results page to open another page to complete data. Parameters from the record need to be passed to the new page, opened with the window.open function as a popup. Maybe I am misunderstanding how and when parameters are passed through Caspio, but I've tried the same thing without passing a parameter as a query string in the URL, and the variable doesn't seem to pass. Your thoughts and insight are appreciated. Thank you.
  13. I'm using SSL, but want to encrypt parameters in the visible URL from parameters passed through from an HTML Block or HTML Code in the final screen of a datapage. What is the best way to encrypt or decode these parameters from within a Caspio HTML Block so that they are not visible in the URL after sent to a new page?
  14. I used code provided by Capsio to successfully change background color of table rows depending on the value of a field, but cannot figure out how to do the same to change the font color of text in a row as opposed to the background color. Here is the script for the background: var isi = document.getElementById("visi[@field:UniqueFieldName]"); if('[@Yes/No FieldName]' == 'Yes'){ isi.parentNode.parentNode.style.backgroundColor = '#YesColor'; } else{ isi.parentNode.parentNode.style.backgroundColor = '#NoColor'; } How can I change this to change the font color? Your elp is appreciated. Thank you.
