  1. I have searched for a solution, but have only found situations that don't resolve my problem. My need: at login, a user with a password that has not been changed in XX-days will be directed to change their password (should this be a submission page or a password change form) . The system, knowing what their current password is, will not allow them to use the same one. Once the password is changed, the user will continue to the page they were trying to sign into. My level of experience with Caspio can be described at best as self taught. I was tasked with the implementation of my project with no prior knowledge of Caspio or coding. Please forgive me if I have followup questions or need additional direction. Thank you!!
  2. I want to make a website that people post their writings and publish it. So, I need that each person has a username and password that he/she uses in order to post anything and other people will be able to view them and know who wrote it. Is that possible? How? Please note that putting the correct password is necessary in order to use the username. Thanks a lot in advance
  3. I am creating a new Application and found one issue. I need to check a number of registered and unregistered users visiting my DataPages. Question: How can I track the user logins to the DataPages?
  4. Hi All, I have tried calling authentication API to get token Key but I am always gettinf it as bad request. Can anyone please help me on this , if I am missing something here. Please refer below screen on what all data is passed during calling.I have used postman tool of google. Thanks Baharul Islam
  5. I am in need of using a list - string in authentication. I would like to have a list field with "roles", and when a datapage loads, I access the values through the authentication fields. It could equate to a comma separated string, then I would just compare to see if the role is contained in the string. The List - String datatypes currently do not show up, but is there a way around this? Maybe by using a formula field to create our own string from the List datatype? Currently, I have each role as a Yes/No column, but it is getting pretty hectic with many roles. I would like to limit it to a few columns if possible. Has anyone encountered this yet? Thanks, Josh
  6. Hello, I am building a Login/Registration/Password-reset database and authentication system with Caspio and am trying to integrate it into an existing PHP based web page. My web page is highly customized ecommerce site that has specialiazed B2B purchase order type system without any login. I want to expand into offering online credit card payments and paypal but I require a customer account system to authenticate and save customer data and provide my FoxyCart with shipping and bulk pricing for individual customers. 1. Is this possible with Caspio? After building a login system I can't see where or how I can pass Authentitcation data through to my order system. 2. How can I update my current php database with newly (caspio) registered users? 3. Is there a webhook or API to assist in this?
  7. I have user authentication by Role setup. When the user signs in they are taken to a page depending on role. I also have a Sign Out option in the Nav. Two questions: Is there a way to have the Sign Out Button auto switch to Sign in after someone signs out or times out? Also, not sure the timeout of 15 minutes is working. Did a test and came back later (when I should have been timed out) and could still navigate to pages based on my role.
  8. Hi I am designing an app with a login data page. When designing the web page where I am deploying the login HTML Data Page the HTML box is showing either the redirected web page or the login in page superimposed over where I am expecting to see the login boxes. (See attached scree shot which will explain it better) The issue I have is that the container for this HTML box is wider that the app I am designing so its changing the layout of my web page. How can I restrain the size of this box to only the size of the login fields and not the referenced web page. I am using Adobe Muse to design the web page and deployed the data pages. Regards Steve
  9. My site has public and private pages. The public pages contains long lists of items. When a user selects an item they are taken to a private details page for that item; however they must be logged in. Currently, if the user is not logged in then they are taken to the login page and upon login they are redirected to the index page. However, I would like the user to be redirected to the private details page that initiated the login. I.e. I don’t want the user to have to find the item again once they are logged … they should just be taken to that details page upon successful login. Description is a little confusing but hopefully someone understands! Thx
  10. I'm working on a wordpress site and writing some custom PHP functions that access Caspio via the REST interface. I'm trying to figure out how to determine if the current user is logged in and get that user's info. I tried creating an HTML DataPage with the same authorization setup that simply echoed back the user info, hoping that if I logged into the website the REST request would be authenticated as well, but this didn't work. I also tried setting the PHPSESSID cookie in the request. Unfortunately, the REST request for the HTML datapage is always getting the login screen, regardless of if the user is logged in in the website. How does Caspio track user authentication? Is there a known solution to this? Thanks, Andrew
  11. I just started using Caspio this week. I have a simple database project that I would like to share only with specific google users. I have successfully created a Tabular DataPage Report that is configured on the Access and Security section to Restrict Access by Requiring a Connection. The connection is successfully configured to use only Google ID Services. When I do this, any authenticated google/gmail account can be logged into my DataPage. That part works. Ultimately, I would like to restrict the access to only specific google accounts. I can't seem to find any documentation on how to get that to work. I have tried to instead create a new Authentication. One that is configured with a Setup option of "Custom" and a User Validation Method of "ID Services Only". Then I enabled only Google ID Services, and selected by Authentication Data Source (table) to use the "social login field" of Username (as well as entering the same Client ID & Client Secret that worked in the Connection I created). But I cannot log in to the database with any of the accounts I added to the Authentication Data Source. and I've edited the DataPage's Access and Security to use this new Authentication (rather than the Connection). But when I try to authenticate, the Google login screen appears, and it accepts my passwords, but just returns me to the Caspio login page with the message "Unknown user. Contact the app administrator for assistance." at the top. So my suspicion is that something's wrong with the record data in the authentication table I'm using as the data source. It has only four fields: Username Text(255) Password Password Email Text (255) Name Text (255) For example, say I have an account with the email of bill.smith@gmail.com I am using the Username field as the Authentications "Social login field" and I've tried populating that field with all the variations I can think of: "bill.smith", "billsmith", "billsmith.gmail.com", "billsmith@gmail.com" but no matter what that contents, I still continue to get the "Unknown user. Contact the app administrator for assistance." message, after logging in successfully to that account. The Google ID Services seems to be working, but the the Caspio Authentication part doesn't. So I'm stuck. Any ideas how to make this work?
  12. Hi Caspio newbie here! I'm trying to do email verification, most of it works fine but the only way to change the verification status to yes is to manually run the datapage I created called email_verification. the email sends okay and the link copies the GUID but it doesn't change the field status. I tried copying the script on the help page to get automatic updating but it doesn't appear to work....my code is as follows <script> document.getElementById('caspioform').onsubmit = function (){ document.getElementById('[@field:Email_Verified^]').checked="y"; } </script> any advice much appreciated Ian
  13. I followed the instructions in the Caspio Online Help Center article "Adding a Logout Link", however am having issues. When a logged in user clicks the "Logout" link, a "File Not Found (404 error)" message comes up. I tried both having the "logout destination" remain as the default "Same Page" and the same 404 error pops up when the Logout button is clicked. I also tried the "Go to a new page" option and used the home page of my website as the URL, but the same 404 error pops up. I should mention, the completed DataPage is deployed using the "<Embed>" option - the code is copied and pasted into an HTML box on my GoDaddy Website Builder application. Everything works seamlessly up until the logout button - even on my live website (created with the GoDaddy Website Builder), users can enter their Username & Password successfully, view the datapage as I set it up, but the Logout button redirects them to the 404 error page. Very frustrating - any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  14. I need to restrict my login to 1 IP address. I have it collecting the ip address when the user registers, however i dont see any way to an additional field to my authentication. Is there Some sort on work around for this? Basically i am trying to prevent people from sharing there login credentials with another person.
  15. Is there a way to set a specific style for the login/authentication screen? Andrew
  16. Does anyone know if it's possible to have the logout link working from inside an iframe on a webpage? At present, I've positioned the usual logout link in the iframe but I can't seem to escape the iframe when I try to logout. Any ideas? Thanks.
  17. Ok so I haven't been able to wrap my head around the authentication options. Essentially we have a user and an admin group, each user and admin have their own username and password. Then we have datapages that display information on various construction projects (we're up to around 400 projects and counting) to everyone, but they look a little different on the admin and user side. Currently nothing on the user side is editable, it is all display only. What I would like to do is to create a "User Notes" section where each user can add their own notes to a certain project and then only they can see those notes they have added. So every time they pull up that project they see the notes they added but not any notes anyone else has added. If possible it would be handy for the admin to be able to see everyone's notes but not necessary. What are my options? Is it best to be have the notes section be a separate database displayed on the same page as the project datapage? How would I go about setting up an authentication system? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! Lya
  18. Rather than having 3 Datapages in order to restrict fields and data for 3 different user types, can a script be used to provide "section-level" security?
  19. Created a Data Page with Authentication and then added the data page to a website but I'm unable to login. If I enter the correct details it returns to the same login page instead to the next page. I have embedded the code into the website (Weebly website) However If I use the preview method I can login and see the data page. Any ideas?
  20. I need a way to add a remember me check box that will allow my users browser to remember there authentication. i know there are several ways to do this. however i'm not able to get the caspio authentication to receive this information. i believe the easiest way to do this would be with cookies however i'm at a loss and i need to get it done. Could anyone please advise me on the most effective way to do this along with the script and how to implement it. thank you.
  21. I Have 4 Separate data pages that share 1 authentication. my first problem is i cant get the data page to stay logged in while its in an i frame. unfortunately i have it deployed on a mobile app and the only way that it will work is in an i frame. any other deployment method and i get error UNSAFE REDIRECT My second Problem is that i have cross app login enabled, which works perfectly with URL or html deployment so i know its properly set up, however i can not get it to work in my i frames. I'm sure the problem is in sending the parameters because I've had to switch to string quarry strings however i cant find a way to pass the password as a parameter. Any Ideas on how to fix it so the customer doesn't have to log in in each window?
  22. I have 3 Data pages that use the same authentication. when i log out it is set to return to same page, however i shuffles through the 3 pages. ill log out of Page A but when i log in (which should take me back to page A) im suddenly on Page B. Am i missing something?
  23. Hello Gurus! I am hoping to redirect users of my app to a login page when they get timed out. Does anybody have a workflow built for this? Currently, if a user times out they simply get logged out, but remain on the same page. So when they come back it looks like the attached image. This 1) looks unprofessional and 2) doesn't allow me to perform login routines that I can perform when logging in from the correct page. Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated. BeGreat CHAD
  24. The auto-login features doesn't work very well for me. I have 3 datapages (A, B and C) using the same authentication. "Auto-login across apps" is enabled, "only single session per user" is disabled, "Time out " is set to 2weeks. When arriving on html page with A, I log in. When moving from this html page based on A (trough a link) to an html page based on B, I get another request for login. That shouldn't be the case! When I do the same from A to C even the first time, it goes through without requesting to login a second time. Once logged in with B (for the second time), everything is working fine. I tested it this on multiple browers with same results. Thanks for your help!
