Storing referring URL in a Virtual field with javascript

Recommended Posts

I want to use a virtual field to store the referring url, (not the host url).  I am using the following javascript but does not seem to properly assign the referrer string to the field.  Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

<script type="text/javascript">
document.addEventListener("DataPageReady", function (event) {
    document.getElementById('cbParamVirtual7').value = document.referrer;
});
</script>

May I know what is the error or what might be the problem you were encountering? What is your expected result? Upon checking on it, it is getting the URL. Here:
