Set Virtual dropdown field to blank on window load

I have a Virtual field which is a cascading dropdown field in a details page. I would like to set the value to NULL when the page loads. I have the following code that is NOT working for me.

document.getElementById("cbParamVirtual1").value="";
}

window.onload=block;
</SCRIPT>

Can anybody please help me with this, what is wrong with this code?

Try this:

function block()

{

document.getElementById("cbParamVirtual1")[0].value="";

}

document.getElementByID("caspioform").onload=block;

I also tried using getElementsByName and doesnt work either :-(

You can also try to have "Lookup and custom values" as the source of the virtual cascading and for custom option have display "Select" and blank for value. This way any time the page loads it will show the custom option first:
