Randomly Select 1 Of Many Matching Record

I'm building an application to do the following:

 

Randomly select an existing profile when the page loads, allow the user to update some information, and submit the information. Each record will be selected by a status, and the status will be changed when the user submits the necessary information.

 

I know how to do this using PHP, MySQL and Javascript. How would I do this on this platform? I'm using the free version for right now.

 

I'm struggling with the "randomly select" bit at the moment. I don't think it can be done with a view. Any ideas?

Hello frankarchway. 

 

You could use List or Gallery report with search field. On the " Result Page Options" wizard you should set : 

 

1) Records per page =1 

2) Default sort order= Random order. 

 

This will show you only one random record, which you can update on the Details Page.
