Can I update an App Parameter through a scheduled task?

Can I update an App Parameter through a scheduled task? It doesn't seem possible, but I would really like this. I have an app parameter that stores the current year and I would like that to update automatically at the beginning of every year. Any ideas?

I know it's a bit late but I would like to inform you that what you were trying to achieve is not possible as of the moment. You cannot update the App parameter via Scheduled task or even in manual import.
