Thank you for responding.  I'm trying to follow the guidance provided, but need more help.

Could someone provide a step by step process on how to do this, including setting up the virtual field and how to create the data pages?

Thank you.

Which among the solutions provided are you trying to follow? Both @Jodie's comment and @autonumber's second link uses different steps.

For one, Jodie's comment uses 2 DataPages while autonumber's only use 1 but adds a field in the table.

In Jodie's comment, you'll need 2 DataPages:

1. Submission Form
 - This is where you will be able to add Virtual fields.

- On the same page, just click on Advanced and pass the parameter as mentioned in the article. Whatever name used in this parameter will be the name of parameter that you will be receiving in the next DataPage.

2. Report DataPage (Tabular, List, etc)
-  In this datapage, set it to filter by predefined criteria, and add the fields where you want the search to filter through:

-Set it to receive External Parameters and use the parameter name on DataPage1

- Configure the comparison types of the fields however you prefer them to filter through the values. Then in the Logic Tab, set it to OR:

I think that's it. Now it's up to you how you will deploy the pages. You can put them in the same web page so it looks like the result is down below the search or separate the result and the search bar and redirect.
