Access Overwrite issue 2FA - Directories

Hi everyone,

So I have a Directories setup for both of my two applications and both of them have 2FA enforced for users.  The problem is if the user already registered the 2FA with the same email from the first application the user will get an overwrite error if he setup the 2FA in the second application.




Here are the steps on how I got the error.

1. Create two directories with different table
2. Enforce 2FA to all users
3. Users who already used their email address in Microsoft authenticator won't be able to register their email again
4. Get an error "This action will overwrite security information."

Does anyone experience this issue with directories and does anyone have any workaround for this?

The workaround is to manually type MFA Setup code into Microsoft Authenticator and not use the QR Code or to use another Authenticator app. Hope this helps!
