Make one search bar display results in 2 datapages

I have a Combined chart & report datapage and a Pivot table. They are set side by side on a single page. But both of them has its individual search function. I'm trying to find a way where I can keep only one search field that will display the results in both elements instead of separate search fields.

The approach is the following:

1) Create a Submission form with Virtual fields that pass entered values as parameters. This Form mimics the Search form.

2) Reports, Charts, etc. should filter data based on the received parameters.

Thanks @CoopperBackpack. I made it work by keeping only the two datapages I created and passing the date parameters from the chart to the pivot table.
