Single record update vs Details report

Amyas

Question

Hi folks I'm new here so apologies if this has been answered already.

Can anyone help me understand when I should use a Details report datapage vs a Single Record Update submission datapage?

Both of them let me choose what fields to show for the record and configure how users interact with and update it.

Thanks!

Hi @Amyas - On Details Page, you may enable Search Form and Filter data based on your pre-defined criteria, meaning you can custom the filter by using logical operators and you can include more fields. In addition, you can navigate to other records. For more information, check it here: https://howto.caspio.com/datapages/reports/search-and-filter-comparison-types/

On Single Record Update, you can only filter through unique ID or Record Level Security (Authentication) and it will only filter one record.

Hope this helps!

Hello @Amyas! Basically, Single Record Update form is usually used when updating the profile information of your users, while Details page is usually used when updating the other records of your users.
