Hide Section with checkbox selected - not using "rules' in GUI

I have a ton of check boxes and text fields on a form. Since you can only use one section or field, or checkbox in a data page with built-in rules I am using code to check the status of check boxes and doing some removing etc. I need a way to set a "section" to hide if a checkbox is true.. again, not with the datapage rules but with code.

I suppose you don’t want to use data page rules because you have tons of checkbox to handle with this behaviour. But the only alternative that I can think is to put tons of JavaScript to handle  this.
