Building a Searchable Client Base

pdavis1958

Question

I am new to this. I would like to ultimately build a CRM for a specific business industry. I want to start out merely using it myself to keep track of all my contacts, appointments, being able to do reports and searches and manage my pipeline. I plan to have 3 levels of contacts. Leads, Prospects and Clients. One day I plan on having multiple clients buy subscriptions to use my CRM to keep track of all of their business, leads, clients etc.

Until then, I want to get it set up to where I can begin using it myself by logging in, building my databases, reports etc. Doing searches, reports etc is very secondary to me getting my clientbase set up with all the fields I want to be able to use. I have watched a number of videos, but nothing I have seen addresses the specific things I am trying to do. I know how to build forms etc. but I don't want to build a form for people to contact me. I want to build a database that houses my clients etc information. I am learning a lot, but I am very limited on what I am able to accomplish in the direction I wish to go. Thanks to anyone who can help me in any aspect of this project. :D

Do you have a database yet? If not you need to design your database including tables, views, and relationship first then start creating forms, search and reports. You may see one of Caspio's ready made apps as an example how relational database and forms are created with Caspio Bridge. A good example is the Knowledgebase app, http://www.caspio.com/apps/general-busi ... ystem.aspx, it is an advanced app if you are new to Caspio. A started app is Task Management, http://www.caspio.com/apps/general-busi ... tware.aspx. You may request each to be uploaded to your account and use them as a role-model to start developing yours.

Good luck,

Hi pdavis1958,

Caspio's Ready-Made Apps  showcase the features of Caspio. You can check them out to find workflows that may suit your application need.

The first step in creating a web-based application is to build a normalized table. Make sure that the tables are well-architected accordingly to the needs of your application. You can click the links below:

Caspio also has training materials that can help you in building your applications.
