Truncation On Results Page

Some of my fields have a lot of information and I want to truncate the view on the Results page down to 75 characters. However, when I go to the Advanced tab, it won't allow me to check the truncate box for some fields (it does for one, but not the other two).

 

Does anyone know what factors affect whether or not I can truncate?

What are the field types for the ones that will not allow you to truncate?

You should be able to truncate for text fields

They are both text fields. One is Text(225) and the other is Text(64000).

I figured it out! I have both fields rendered as HTML and apparently that does not allow truncation.
