Creating Hyperlink In Text Box?

Looking for a way to recognize any 'http...' string in a text field and make it hyperlink.  The purpose is to enable viewers to click on that link, rather than re-pasting the string into a browser.

If this is a results or details page, under Field Options -> Render value as: - choose URL link.

It's not the whole field, it would be any occurrence of the URL in a text field, such as:

 

'For more information, contact http://moreinfo.com'.

becomes:

For more information, contact http://moreinfo.com'.

 

where that becomes a link within the text field.

If you chose Render Value as: HTML, you could include HTML tags in your text field. You would need to replace in the record where you had:

 

For more information, contact http://moreinfo.com'.

 

with:

For more information contact <a href = "http://moreinfo.com">http://moreinfo.com</a>

The challenge is the link isn't known in advance.  An editor may enter the text and we don't want them to have to add the html tags every time.  Looking for some code to add that would recognize an html string whenever, wherever it occurs and make it a link automatically.
