Weighted Average

Hello,

 

I have fields VOLUME and PRICE; and a calculated field GROSS_PROCEEDS ([@field:VOLUME] * [@field:PRICE]).

 

I need to figure out the weighted average price across all records (also across subgroups of records based on conditions associated with other fields).  I've tried creating a formula in a new aggregate element but no luck.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

In excel I would do sumproduct(VOLUME, PRICE) / sum(VOLUME).

You can use a formula in 'Aggregation' field:

 

SUM(price*volume)/SUM(volume)
