Add Field and Table Together

hello I need a piece of javascript that will take the numbers of hours I enter into the update field plus the number of hours in the table entry and add them together like so.

(NEW HOURS UPDATE ENTRY)  +  (OLD HOURS TABLE ENTRY)  =  (TOTAL HOURS UPDATED TABLE ENTRY)

Hi, I suppose you may try using  function directly in the table, using the formula field. It will be a simple math function, you need to sum two fields.
