To restrict user access to pages you need to create user groups and give access to groups as described here.

To stamp the time user logged in, you can create a submission page based on the table you want to keep logins, and deploy this page as your authentication page. Use the JS on this page to redirect user to their dashboard. You can wither have auto-submi code on this page and use the JS in the tutorial in the message area or use the JS in the footer and modify it to redirect user on page load.

For other scenario also you should look for the same workaround
