SingleSelect Dropdown in Label Form Element

In Data Pages > Data Page Elements for a Standard > Label From Element, there are three choices: Display, Multiselect Dropdown and Multiselect Listbox.   While entering data, what do we do to prevent users from clicking multiple values from the drop down or list box and ensuring only a single value is clickable from the list?

I believe this forum post is similar to your case: 

 You will need to define the field as the Text(255) in the Table. Then in your DataPage, select radio button, dropdown or listbox as form element.
