Search results in NEW window &/or New search button??

realized

Question

I have caspio deployed into a joomla site, it works perfectly but for a user to have to reload the entire page to see the search results kind of sucks..

Can i have the search box (and button) on my main page, but when they type in what they want to search, and click search, it opens another box to display the results?

If so, can i hide a caspio URL and mask it as my own?

IF not,

can i have a "new search" button appear after a search result so if they want to do another search they dont need to press BACK. (and thus reloading the entire website again just to search..)

Hi,

You can put a Search Again link in the header or footer of your DataPage.

Edit the DataPage, go all the way to the "Configure Results Page Fields" screen. There is an "Insert" button at the bottom of the "DataPage Elements" box on which you can click and insert header/footer and have the link as Search Again

Replace the URL with the URL of the webpage where you have deployed this Search and Report DataPage.

Best,

Bahar M

UPDATE

  • When you create Report DataPages, you can now choose to automatically display the search form and the search results on the same screen. By displaying the search form above results page, you improve the usability of your applications by eliminating the extra step of users clicking back to the search form each time they want to edit the search criteria.
  • This is included in the recent release of Caspio Bridge 15.0 last October 16, 2018. You can find the information here.
  • Another workaround is creating a separate search page and results page into two different web pages. Here's a tutorial: https://howto.caspio.com/tech-tips-and-articles/tech-parameters/how-to-separate-search-page-and-results-page-into-two-different-webpages/
