Refreshing the dropdown list without refreshing the page

Hi,

What a dropdown list can display is pre-defined custom values and/or data from a pre-designated table. So if the value will be displayed as long as it exists in the source table. If you wanted to let users be able to insert new options into the dropdown as well as not affecting other fields on the same form, here's an workaround which you can try out:

Did it work..Can you explain me the step to step process?

I have a parent page and a link called ADD COMPANY . I also have a drop down for company. So if I click on company, a pop up opens up which is linked with look up table and Ia dd value, its added int he table.

However, the parent page's drop down doesnt reflect the new value I added. Pls help
