Search option for missing files

I have a table with a file field and want to allow the user to search for all records where the file field is blank.

This is easy enough for a static report but it would be good if I can allow the user to click or select an option that says missing files. So two options: return all files or just the blank ones.

I thought I could do this with a custom drop down leaving the value blank. You can set it to return all records when left blank or only empty records when left blank but I need it to do both depending on the selection.

Hope that makes some sense to someone?

Hello Brian,

I might not be understanding you, but you can configure the field to achieve that behaviour. When the checkbox is checked, then it will only show records that have the field empty, otherwise the report will show all the records.

@Barry's suggestion is on point! Just make sure to indicate that the check box when checked will return records with "NO FILES" so they don't get confused when using your report form.
