How To Delete File?

For the 'file' data type, Is it possible to force a file deletion when selecting 'remove'.  It seems the remove option only removes it from view, but the file still exists.  So if i upload a file of the same name as the deleted one, the new attachment is renamed with '_1'.

 

I know it is possible to request orphan file cleanup, but is there any way to delete the file immediately?

Hi Allen,

Do you mean you want to Delete permanently your file to your database?  

If that's what you want, Go to All assets->Files select all the files using a checkbox in the left top corner and delete files using bulk actions if you want to remove a lot of files. If you want to remove only just select the file you want to delete and click "Delete".

Hi Allen,

 

If you check  "remove" checkbox don't forget to save changes. You should click for example "Update". After that, a file will be deleted from the source table. 

 

Also you can select a radio button "Overwrite existing file" to avoid duplicates. Take a look at the screenshot.
