Is it Easy to develop app with Capsio

Henry

Question

Hi all, I am new here and a beginner in any kind of web development. Basically I am running a small import and export business and never needed such skills. Recently I have decided to expand and upgrade my business for that I needed a website so I hired a website revglue.com to make my website which is really good but now my friend had advised me to also make an app where your our customers can access to purchase our products more easily like alibaba.com or aliexpress.com. While our business is not that big but the companies developing these apps are asking way too much money for our simple app which I don't want to spent here. I recently read an article about Caspio that how non technical business professionals can create there own database web app with the help Caspio without coding.

I have been lurking here for a while now and read some great posts from beginners and the answers from its existing expert users. I want to ask my fellow businessmen who had attempted Caspio that I this easy or you need some extra computer skills to make a custom app for your business?

Hi,

Just want to add to the previous comments above, the first thing that you need to do is to build a normalized and well-architectured table.  And for you to know the fields and tables that you need, you need to define the workflow of your application.  As well as the Level of Users of the app. In this manner, it would be easy for you to identify which tables that you will need, and what type of relationship you need to establish. You can click the links below to view the presentations:

Addition to that, you can review some of their training materials for you to familiarize Caspio's features.

Also, they have Ready-made applications that showcase the features of Caspio. You may want to visit them at https://www.caspio.com/apps/ to find workflows that may suit your applications need.

By the way, they offer free instructor-led training sessions multiple times per week. These online training helps you get up and running quickly. Hi @Henry,

Caspio is a low-code platform designed to help users build custom web applications without the need for extensive programming knowledge. Below is a general guideline to get started with Caspio:

1. Sign Up & Explore the Dashboard

  • Create an account at Caspio.
  • Once logged in, you’ll see the dashboard with a variety of tools to manage your apps, databases, and DataPages.

2. Create a Database

  • Design Your Tables: Start by defining your data structure. Tables in Caspio act as the backbone where all your data is stored.
  • Relationships: Set relationships between tables (e.g., 1-to-many, many-to-many) to structure your data more efficiently.
  • Import Data: You can import your existing data from files (CSV, Excel, etc.) to start using it with your applications.

3. Build DataPages

  • DataPages are the core component that allows you to build interactive web interfaces.
    • Forms: Create submission forms for users to input data.
    • Reports: Generate and display dynamic reports with search and filtering capabilities.
    • Charts: Build visual representations of your data.
    • Dashboards: Aggregate reports and charts in a single view for a comprehensive summary.

4. Customize Your App

  • Low-Code Features: Use drag-and-drop tools to design your user interface without writing code. You can also apply HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for further customization.
  • Calculated Fields: Set up custom formulas to perform real-time calculations within your DataPages.

5. Integrate and Automate

  • Triggered Actions: Set automatic actions that are triggered by specific events, such as updating or inserting records.
  • APIs: Use Caspio’s REST API to connect your applications with third-party services or custom systems.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO): Securely integrate SSO to allow users to access your app with a single login.

6. Deploy Your App

  • Web Embed: Embed your application into any website by copying the generated deployment code.
  • Standalone App: Alternatively, you can host your app directly through Caspio’s cloud infrastructure.

7. Support & Resources

  • Caspio offers comprehensive documentation and video tutorials to guide you through specific features.
  • Community Forum: Engage with other users in the Caspio Community Forum.
  • Customer Support: For complex queries, you can reach out to Caspio’s customer service team.

By following these steps, you can quickly create, customize, and deploy web applications on Caspio!
