Datapage fast on Preview, Slow with Link

HughOD

Question

We have a DataPage that loads relatively quick (2-3 seconds) with the Preview link.  But, if we use the link provided in Deploy, it is extremely slow to load (30-60 seconds).

We do have 125ish fields and 15 rules (which basically hide sections based on checkboxes).  However, why would the speeds be so different between Preview and Live?

Thanks!

Here is the URL so you can see how slow it is:  https://c1abe792.caspio.com/dp/54bb7000b1133c88d50949eaba3b

Hello, there are a lot of factors why this can be happening. The issue may be due to a lot fields included, making the page load a little bit slower than expected.

Here are some tips:

1. Try implementing the Multi-Step form. Not only this stabilizes and improves the form's behavior, but it also boosts the quality and the UI of the DataPages. Here's the link: https://howto.caspio.com/tech-tips-and-articles/common-customizations/how-to-create-a-multi-page-form/

2. Reduce the number of Calculated/Virtual fields in a single DataPage. This may slow down the loading of the page depending on the formula that is being loaded by those calculated fields.

The key is proper utilization of your resources and how you can provide your seamless use as much as possible. Also, try contacting Caspio Support, they can check if there is something on the backend that prohibits your DataPages from working well.

I hope this helps.

And now it is SUPER fast.  Unsure why it was so slow for several days.  Will report back if it returns.

So, I moved this form to a different account (as I was developing it for a client).  Now that I moved it, is super slow again.

FAST version = https://c1abe792.caspio.com/dp/54bb7000b1133c88d50949eaba3b

SLOW version = https://c6bkr902.caspio.com/dp/3EA88000b1133c88d50949eaba3b

Any ideas?  Does Caspio somehow "compile" these or something?

Hi @HughOD,

I had a similar issue before and it is some kind of limitation of the Free version of Caspio.

I have raised a ticket regarding this and Support rep informed me that there was some security check which run behind the scene and affected the loading time.

You can raise a ticket here: https://support.caspio.com/
