Best way to learn REST API from scratch?

Mitch

Question

Need to learn from  zero how to use this.  The help section is somewhat useful as far as it goes (I've managed to set up the profile etc) but looking for a resource that is more of a tutorial of sorts?  Need practical example of how send, receive and process requests and responses and what tools to use in doing so.  Sorry to ask such a basic question but not at all clear on how to get started.  Thanks in advance.

Hi @Mitch,

Perhaps you will find below tutorial useful.

Also, in order to start using REST API you need to have a solid knowledge of any back-end language. I would recommend learning the PHP since in my opinion it is the easiest to learn.

There a lot of training materials on PHP available in the web.

There is a post with PHP code samples that you may find useful too:

Hope this helps.

General knowledge may also be coming from this:

https://howto.caspio.com/web-services-api/rest-api/

https://howto.caspio.com/web-services-api/rest-api/swagger-ui/ - Testing Environment

https://howto.caspio.com/web-services-api/rest-api/authenticating-rest/ - Where to get authentication.

If you want Caspio to create the connection for you, you can consult the Professional Services team directly.
